Resumen : In order to carry out this research work, the problem of the children in the Fifth Year of the “Dr. Mariano Borja School of Basic Education. The problem was: the lack of motivation, and the established objective was to determine the incidence of motivation in the teaching-learning process of Natural Sciences. The study was carried out on the basis of scrupulous scientific research, that is, on the facts that led to its development, in the first place, the reference framework containing the problem was detailed, and its approach and formulation were analyzed from the macro, meso and micro reality. For this purpose, the 18 children in the Fifth Year of this school were taken as the object of study. Then , the theoretical framework was founded with scientific bibliography on the two variables of the subject of study such as motivation and the teaching-learning process of Natural Sciences, then it was conceptualized based on criteria of several authors quoted in the process, after this, the methodological framework was presented, the design of the research was formulated as non-experimental and documentary, it was descriptive, on field and bibliographic, the technique used for data collection was the observation and as an instrument was an observation sheet in which the results obtained were described, no sample was considered since the study was carried out with the whole student population. The results obtained with their respective percentage were analyzed and interpreted. Finally the conclusions and recommendations that corroborated the study on the proposed objectives were constituted.
