Resumen : La presente investigación se enfoca en la recuperación de la memoria histórica de la parroquia Pungalá a través del registro del Patrimonio Cultural Inmaterial, expone la gran diversidad de tradiciones, costumbres y leyendas que constituyen la riqueza de este pueblo, la cual por el paso del tiempo y debido a varios factores como: la religión, la migración y la adopción de nuevas costumbres provoca la pérdida de la identidad cultural, para lo cual se recopilo información proporcionada por los habitantes y se las registro mediante fichas del Instituto Nacional del Patrimonio Cultural para evitar la pérdida desmedida de la riqueza inmaterial de Pungalá dentro de las cuales se logró registrar las tradiciones más emblemáticas como son: las festividades en honor a la Virgen de la Peña, San Miguel de Arcángel, Finados, Semana Santa, Carnaval, Corpus Chisti entre otros, también se menciona varios juegos populares que se desarrollan en la localidad los cuales son: los juegos de los cuyes, el gallo enterrado y el juego de los gallos y entre las leyendas que solo se encuentran en la memoria de los habitantes de mayor edad encontramos las siguientes: el carbunco, el cura sin cabeza, las monjas y la aparición de la Virgen. La investigación es descriptiva con enfoque cualitativo, los datos para esta investigación se los obtuvo gracias a entrevistas no estructuradas que se las realizó a varios pobladores adultos de la localidad con el fin de recuperar y así evitar la pérdida definitiva de estas manifestaciones culturales.
Descripción : The present investigation focuses on the recovery of the historical memory of the Pungalá parish through the registration of the Intangible Cultural Heritage, exposes the great diversity of traditions, customs and legends that constitute the wealth of this town, which over time and due to various factors such as: religion, migration and the adoption of new customs causes the loss of cultural identity, for which information provided by the inhabitants was collected and recorded through the National Institute of Cultural Heritage to avoid the excessive loss of the immaterial wealth of Pungalá within which it was possible to register the most emblematic traditions such as: the festivities in honor of the Virgen de la Peña, San Miguel de Arcángel, Finados, Holy Week, Carnival, Corpus Chisti among others , also mentioned several popular games that are developed in the locality which are: the games of and the guinea pigs, the buried rooster and the game of the roosters and among the legends that can only be found in the memory of the oldest inhabitants are the following: the anthrax, the headless priest, the nuns and the apparition of the Virgin . The research is descriptive with qualitative approach, the data for this research was obtained through unstructured interviews that were made to several adult inhabitants of the town in order to recover and thus avoid the ultimate loss of these cultural events.
