dc.descriptionABSTRACT This study applied in the “Unidad Educative Dr. Alfredo Pérez Guerrero” in Guano, with the main objective of analyzing the level of Self-concept and Social Skills, the sample based on 136 educational records. The type of research was documentary and bibliographic with a quantitative approach, non-experimental and descriptive-correlational cross-sectional design. The data collection based on student records, which contained the results obtained from the Form 5 Self-Concept and Social Skills Scale questionnaires, these results are in the student counseling department. Among the results by gender, it obtained that in Self-concept, men reached 63.9% in the emotional dimension, while the family dimension with 50%, while women in the academic dimension obtained 60.9%, on the other hand, in Social Skills, men registered 59.7% in the factor say no and cut interactions and the factor positive interactions with the opposite sex with 55.6%, nonetheless, in women 35.9% are reached in the factor of their own rights as a consumer. There were positive correlations between the variables highlighting the relationship between the physical dimension with the factor saying no and cutting interactions (r = .316 p <.001) and the emotional dimension with the anger factor (r = .290 p <.001). Consequently, the results obtained were relevant to the development of a psychological intervention plan with the main objective of improving self-concept and increasing social skills in students. dc.description.abstractRESUMEN La presente investigación se realizó en la Unidad Educativa Dr. Alfredo Pérez Guerrero del cantón Guano, con el objetivo de analizar el nivel de Autoconcepto y Habilidades Sociales, la muestra estuvo conformada por 136 expedientes educativos. El tipo de investigación fue documental y bibliográfica con un enfoque cuantitativo, diseño transversal no experimental y de nivel descriptivo-correlacional. Para la recolección de datos se realizó la revisión de los expedientes estudiantiles que contenían los resultados obtenidos de los cuestionarios Autoconcepto Forma 5 y Escala de Habilidades Sociales, que se encuentran en el departamento de consejería estudiantil. Entre los resultados por género, tenemos que en el Autoconcepto, los varones obtuvieron 63.9% en la dimensión emocional, dimensión familiar con un 50%, mientras que las mujeres en la dimensión académica con el 60.9%, por otro lado en las Habilidades Sociales los hombres puntuaron un 59.7% en el factor decir no y cortar interacciones y el factor interacciones positivas con el sexo opuesto con un 55.6%, en cambio en las mujeres se encuentra un 35.9% en el factor de los propios derechos como consumidor. Existen correlaciones positivas entre las variables resaltando la relación entre la dimensión físico con el factor decir no y cortar interacciones (r= ,316 p< ,001) y la dimensión emocional con el factor de enfado (r= ,290 p< ,001). En consecuencia a los resultados fue pertinente la elaboración de un plan de intervención psicológica con el objetivo de mejorar el autoconcepto y aumentar las habilidades sociales en los estudiantes.es_ES
