Resumen : La presente investigación abordo el tema déficit de atención y la comprensión lectora en la Unidad Educativa Riobamba, la cual tuvo como objetivo determinar la relación entre el déficit de atención y la comprensión lectora en los estudiantes de sexto año de educación general básica. La atención es un proceso cognitivo- psicológico necesario para el procesamiento de información, permitiendo realizar cualquier actividad , mientras que la comprensión lectora permite entender y comprender el significado de un texto; esta investigación tuvo un enfoque cuantitativo, de diseño no experimental, por su nivel y alcance fue descriptivo y correlacional, por los objetivos básica, por el lugar de campo y por el tipo de estudio transversal, con una muestra de 111 estudiantes (50 varones y 61 mujeres) de sexto año de educación general básica paralelos “A”, “B” y “C”. Los instrumentos para le recolección de datos fueron test psicométricos; test D2 de Rolf Brickenkamp (1962) para la variable independiente y el test de análisis de lectoescritura de Josep Toro para la variable dependiente; conjuntamente con otros recursos como el programa SPSS statistics 23 para el análisis de datos, por el cual se pudo comprobar que existe una correlación entre variables déficit de atención y comprensión lectora. En la investigación se determinó que mientras mayor atención exista mayor nivel de comprensión lectora poseerán los estudiantes.
Descripción : This research addressed the issue of deficit attention and Reading comprehension in the Riobamba Educational Unit, which aimed to determine the relationship between attention deficit and reading comprehension in students in the sixth year of primary general education. Attention is a cognitive - psychological process necessary for the processing of information; this allows us to perform any activity, and reading comprehension enables us to understand the meaning of a text. This research had a quantitative approach and non-experimental design. Because of its level and scope, it is descriptive and correlational. For the primary objectives, for the field is local and for the type of cross-sectional study, with a sample of 111 students ( 50 boys and 61 women) of the sixth year of basic general education parallel “ A”, “B” and “C”. The instruments for data collection were psychometric tests; test D2 by Rolf Brickenkamp (1962) for the independent variable and the Josep Toro literacy analysis test for the dependent variable; Together with other resources such as the SPSS statistics 23 program for data analysis, it was found that there is a correlation between attention deficit and reading comprehension variables, In the investigation, it was determined that the more attention there is, the higher the level of reading comprehension the students will possess.
