Descripción : This research study provides an analysis that allows us to interpret the effects of public spending on road infrastructure on Ecuador's economic growth periods 2000-2017, the study focused on the theory of public spending and economic growth. In the analysis of the variables, the econometric model of the Cobb-Douglas production function was used, in order to identify how significant, the creation of road infrastructure represents the aggregate economic growth of Ecuador. The demand for road infrastructure in the country has been caused by the sustained growth of income, trade and urbanization in expansion, has generated that the demand for road infrastructure has increased nationally, as this is the area of greatest circulation of people, cargo to different places nationwide. Through the road system, the country has been able to connect between the different nodes, be it for economic activity or tourism at the national level, because in the country land transport is carried out almost exclusively by vehicles on roads. Chapter I, is structured by the Introduction, approach to the problem and the Objectives: general and specific. Chapter II contains the Theoretical Framework, which describes the theories of public spending on road infrastructure and economic growth, through concepts and theories formulated by different authors; In the same way, the theory of public spending and economic growth is detailed and finally the legal framework that governs the road infrastructure in Ecuador is developed. In chapter III, the methodological framework is developed, through the collection of data and description of road infrastructure variables, and economic growth measured through GDP per capita between the periods 2000 to 2017, and the results are interpreted with the application of the Cobb-Douglas econometric model. Chapter IV, begins with the conclusions and recommendations which ends the investigation.
