Descripción : This work of investigation, is of experimental type, in which they realized several tests in the laboratory of soils like; the soil classification test, the compaction test (Standard Proctor) and the C.B.R. from laboratory. For which the burnt oil produced by the vehicles was used, with which a mixture with the soil silty sand was made. The sandy soil is not advisable to use, as a sub-grade layer in the construction of the roads, because it has to be replaced by better quality materials. This type of work with leads high investment. The present investigation has as objective to use new alternatives to improve the sandy soil and in this way eliminate the option of replacing the material and reducing the costs in the road construction. The results obtained through the research work correspond to the determination of the adequate percentage of the burned oil, which will be used in the stabilization of the silty sand soil and thus improve its mechanical properties.
