Descripción : The main objective of the research was to determine the relationship between self-injured and anxiety in children and adolescents from 11 to 16 years old in the students of Unidad Educativa "La Salle. The Methodology was based on descriptive, transversal and no experimental research with a sample of 528 students, an epidemiological data analysis "Epidata" was used and with the help of the simple random sampling method, about 180 students were taken, 29 of them are self-injured. The instruments applied to measure the variables were; for self-injured, the parasuicide Indicator card (González, et al 2003) and to measure anxiety levels, the zung anxiety test (W.K Zung 1971). In the analysis data, the statistical package microsoft excel version 2010 was used. The results obtained revealed that the total sample, 16% of the adolescents self-injured without suicidal intention at any time. When analyzing the relationship between the variables, students who self-aggregate reflect the following levels of anxiety: 55.17% did not present anxiety, 31.03% showed moderate anxiety and 13.79% with a marked anxiety. As a result, despite the existence of certain levels of anxiety in self-injured students, it is determined that the relationship between the variables of self-injured and anxiety is not significant, since anxiety acts as a maintenance factor during the self-injury process.
