Resumen : La presente investigación abordó el tema “Inteligencia Emocional en Estudiantes de la Facultad de Ciencias de la Educación, Humanas y Tecnologías de la Universidad Nacional de Chimborazo. Riobamba. Marzo – Julio. 2017”, este es un tema de gran importancia ya que no se han realizado investigaciones similares y por otro lado la importancia de este se debe a que hoy en día la IE se ha convertido en una tarea necesaria en el ámbito educativo para ayudar al desarrollo evolutivo y socio-emocional de sus alumnos, principalmente de la población de estudio. La Inteligencia Emocional según Salovey y Mayer(1990), es la habilidad para manejar los sentimientos y emociones, discriminar entre ellos y utilizar estos conocimientos para dirigir los propios pensamientos y acciones. Se trabajó con un diseño no experimental, los métodos utilizados fueron Deductivo – Inductivo y Analítico – Sintético, el tipo de investigación fue Transversal y de Campo, se manejó el nivel de investigación descriptiva. La muestra fue de 28 estudiantes. Se aplicó el test TMMS – 24 de Fernández y Berrocal, estructurado por 24 items, compuesto por tres dimensiones claves de la IE con 8 ítems cada una de ellas: Percepción, Comprensión y Regulación Emocional. Luego del análisis e interpretación de datos se concluye que, gran parte de estudiantes en cuanto a las tres dimensiones se encuentran en un nivel adecuado de Inteligencia Emocional.
Descripción : This investigation tread about topic “Emocional Intelligence in the students of the Education, Humanities and Technology Sciencies Faculty of the National University of Chimborazo. Riobamba March – July. 2017”, this is a subject of great importance becuase similar investigationd has not been carried out and on the other hand this importance is due to the fact that “E.I” today has become in a necessary task in the educational field to help develop evolutionary and socio – emocional of the students, mainly of the study population.Emotional Intelligence according to Salovey and Mayer (1990), is the ability to manage feelings and emotions, discriminate between them and use the knowledge to direct one´s thoughts and actions. A non experimental desing was worked, the methods used were Deductive – Inductive and Analytical – Synthetic, the type of investigation was Transversal and Fiel, the level of investigation was descriptive, the type of investigation was descriptive. The simple was twenty eight students. The TMMS test – 24 by Fernández and Berrocal was applied, it was structured by 24 tems, and it consists of three key dimensions of E.I with 8 items each one of them: Perception, Comprehesion and Regulation Emotional. After the analysis and interpretation of data, it concluded that, referring to the three dimensions, the most students are in an adequate level of Emotional Intelligence.
